Dr. Olson has been a practicing psychologist for 21 years. She began her psychology training at the American School of Professional Psychology in Arlington, Virginia, the American School is a part of Argosy University, and fully accredited by the American Psychological Association. Her training experience began at the Whitman Walker Clinic in Washington, D.C.. There she worked with individuals coping with mood and anxiety disorders as well as HIV/AIDS and substance abuse issues. Following her training at the clinic, Dr. Olson completed a year of training at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia's Child Guidance Clinic. Her task was to conduct full psychological assessments on children, to identify emotional issues and make recommendations for treatment and disposition to the court.

 

Dr. Olson completed her predoctoral internship at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Following graduation Dr. Olson completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Psychological Centers in Middletown, Rhode Island. While there she conducted many psychological assessments for children involved with Child and Family Services to determine appropriate treatment options.

 

Since completing her training Dr. Olson began her private practice. She remained in RI until accepting a year position at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAC) in Washington, D.C. During her stay at WRAMC, Dr. Olson worked with soldiers returning from the war effort, conducting pre-deployment assessments and treating those family members dealing with mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Olson supervised psychiatry residents as well. She returned to Rhode Island after a year and served as staff psychologist in Rhode Island Hospital's Mood Disorders Program. (Brown University's Department of Psychiatry teaching service.) Dr. Olson returned to her private practice in Rhode Island and remained there for most of her career. Dr. Olson then relocated to the Los Angeles area 10 years ago and began her practice located in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Towers. Currently, she has established bicoastal offices in both East Lyme CT and Los Angeles, CA and is accepting clients at her east coast location.
